Dashboard

Sunday, November 30th, 2003

The dashboard is a piece of software which performs a continous, automatic search of your personal information space to show you things in your life that are related to whatever you happen to be doing with your computer at the time.

While you read email, browse the web, write a document, or talk to your friends on IM, dashboard does its best to proactively find objects that are relevant to your current activity, and to display them in a friendly way.[dashboard]

DEVONagend – a intelligent Assistant?

Monday, August 11th, 2003

DEVONagent is a fast and flexible agent to find any kind of information on the Internet. It scans the net using a variety of searching techniques, collects hundreds of web pages and summarises them intelligently.

Or are you visiting the same pages over and over again to see if they publish something about this or that? Let DEVONagent’s crawler do the job for you! DEVONagent automatically scans through a list of pages and reports only those dealing with what you’re looking for.

To make the long story short, DEVONagent does what a typical professional human websurfer would do. It is ideal for journalists, analysts or just anyone looking for complete and specific information without having to dig through megabytes of data themselves. DEVONagent stores all or selected results in a searchable archive, can run multiple queries simultaneously, supports a variety of search engines and summarises all results automatically.[DEVONagent]

If this software keeps half of what is promised here it will be a extremly usefull tool. We’ll see. Tis is annonced for “Summer 2003″ and the Conmpany claimes that the Software already reached Beta-Stage (which means – at least to me – it’s feature-complete.)

ploticus: is free software that generates plots and graphs from data. It does what I wanted from gnuplot but gnuplot couldn’t deliver.

Basically you write a little code and get a nich diagramm from it.
