c0re in motion

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005

It’s done, I wrote a program that displays an Apple Powerbook’s coords, provided by the built-in motion sensor.
The interface is not publicly available, the software was written
doing some reverse engineering work.

The software can be downloaded here.

Patching Mach-O binaries

Sunday, May 15th, 2005

If you want to patch your Mach-O binary with gdb,
you have to start gdb with the –write switch.
Although that’s all you need on Intel systems, it won’t suffice
on MacOS X, because the TEXT segment is not writable.

Use chtext to "correct" the permissions.

It worked perfectly on my 10.3.9 box, but the Tiger
seems to be a little bit bitchier…
