moBlog

Saturday, July 26th, 2003

moBlog is a little email to weblog gateway. The nifty part of it is that it can handle attachments which allows you to post files, especially images to your weblog. This makes a posting pictures from your camera equipped Cellular/Mobile/Handy/PDA extremly easy.

moBlog uses xml-rpc to upload pictures. Currently it needs a patched version of antville to work.

moBlog runs on its own account checking ~/Maildir for regulary for new messages. If it finds one it parses the MIME structure looks up the sender and recipient address in a config file to find out which weblog to post to, then upload attachments and finally generate a new posting referencing the uploaded images.

GottFaulbär meint in der Schlafmulde:

MultiCast Tunnel Creation, or Rendezvous across the Internet

Schlimmer 1&1. Da geht gar nix mit DNS. Daten bei 1&1 ablegen oder Provider wechseln.

antville.metaWeblog.newMediaObject()

Thursday, July 24th, 2003

antville’s metaWeblog.newMediaObject() xml-rpc function seems to be broken

* It does not comply to the spec at http://www.xmlrpc.com/metaWeblogNewMediaObject antville returns a string, not a struct as mandated by the spec.

* base64 decodiung errors should be handled more gracefully

* duplicate names are handled ‘correctly’ by adding a suffix to the name. but this is not reflected in the returned url.

No GPRS

Turns out with T-Mobile D1 I can use GRPS for WAP and MMS but not for Internet access via my notebook. How lame.
